I’m so excited to introduce you to Alexis and Logan, one of our adorable and super sweet May 2018 couples! We met up in Harbor East and explored Fells Point along the water on the most photogenic September evening. These two are complete naturals and totally ROCKED their session with nonstop laughter and coziness! It was the perfect recipe for engagement session bliss… 🙂
I love hearing each couples’ story of how they met! Here’s how it unfolded in Alexis’ words… I love that Logan purposely got them lost, so they could spend more time together on their first date! 😉
“It was my first day at Mount Union, and my coworker was taking me around introducing me to the coaches; he took me into the swimming assistants offices and there was Logan. After meeting me, he texted the former men’s soccer assistant, “Hey remember how we were joking about the new sports information person being a good looking blonde? (I had very good looking blonde hair!) Well, she is.” (HA!) Within a week we went on a hike together, which he purposely got us lost driving to the location. We talked about a lot during the walk, but more importantly I told him I was hungry and that he was taking me to Chipotle and that he was paying. He did. We had lunch and dinner most days, depending on my schedule and his swim schedule. It took us a couple weeks for things to fall into piece for us to actually officially start dating, and once we officially did start dating, we didn’t tell many people around us – even though I know Logan told his family well before I did, lol, and here we are…”
Logan has one of the best proposal stories I’ve heard; full of last minute details and an impromptu phone call to Alexis’ mom 45 minutes before the proposal! Just hearing this story makes my heart race with excitement!!!
“Well, let’s first talk about how I came to realize that it needed to happen. We were on the way to Kentucky for a swim meet; I had left Alexis and our fat cat back in Lexington. And I realized that all I wanted to do was be with her as I stared out the window. I remember saying to myself ” Well…that seems to be that…it’s time to make sure I can always come home to her”. So after much back and forth (and consulting many family members and friends, I picked the ring. It was supposed to come in right before we left for Nationals. Now, my boss (who had helped me a lot during the process) told me “go look at the ring…and then leave it with the jeweler”. She told me this for two reasons: 1.) She knew how much she would clean “every nook and cranny” when her husband was out of town, and thought that wherever I hid the ring would be found by Alexis and 2.) She knew how bad I was with gifts and if I got the ring, I would give it to her right away. So I saw the ring and went to Nationals for a week. I picked the ring up on Monday and thought about how I was going to do it. I originally had planned on going on a hike that weekend but Alexis, unbeknownst to her, had picked that weekend to go see my parents so that wouldn’t work! Tuesday was an unseasonably nice day and after coming back to the apartment for lunch, Alexis called me and told me how bad work was for her that day. On an impulse, I said “well why don’t you tell them you feel sick, come home, and we’ll go on a hike?”. I didn’t really expect her to say yes but…in 15 minutes…she was coming home. I knew I had 45 minutes until she came so I did what anyone would do….I called her mom and said ” So I am probably going to ask your daughter to marry me today…now is your chance to tell me what you think is wrong with me”. So she gets home we go on a hike up House Mountain. We had never done the hike (I didn’t know how long it was!) but we are going up and all the while, I have a GoPro and the Ring with me. We get probably around 80% done with the hike (2 hours in) and Alexis calls it… says “let’s turn around”. I had been waiting for a very scenic outlook, so I panic. She is pretty adamant about turning around. So I say, “Well, lets take a picture on my Go Pro.” I set up the GoPro to record a video and pretend like it’s taking a still picture. Well, she calls me out and says “It’s taking a video, not a picture…can’t you change it? Don’t you have a remote for it?”. As she asks me this, I am fumbling with my pocket for the ring and I say “Well…I don’t have a remote but I do have this..” and I take the ring out. She was shocked (I tease that she said “No” first…but it was more shock than anything) and the rest is history!
I absolutely adore how close and snuggly these two are!! It’s just a matter of time before my clients achieve professional model status during our session – these two CRUSHED IT soooo early on!
Cheers to you, lovebirds!! We CAN.NOT.WAIT for May to be here to celebrate with you at the Country Club of Maryland and officially document all of the cookie table goodness as you dance the night away as Mr. + Mrs.!
xoxo, Naomi
