This is what it looks like when you get to take engagement photos on your birthday… pure joy!! I met up with Emily and Rehan in late March in Mt. Vernon and we had the best time exploring a classic Baltimore neighborhood that had everything picturesque: elegant architecture, beautiful light and gorgeous spring blossoms on the trees. Such an easygoing and sweet couple together, I can’t wait for their wedding day! Just look at how they enjoy each other… Rehan even surprised Emily with a celebratory bottle of champagne at the end of the evening, scroll down to see those photos as they popped some bubbly in a beautiful brick garden alley – they’re some of my favorites!
“Rehan had planned to propose in St. Louis in April and have friends and family join to celebrate afterwards at the café where we had our first date, but then the pandemic hit. Since Emily loves the word jumbles in the newspaper, he made ones in the same style with words that were meaningful to us and the solutions of which led us on a tour around the city of some spots of significance. Since he couldn’t lean on all the help from friends we was hoping for, he set everything up earlier in the day under the guise of going to work and showed up at the apartment in a full suit. He decorated the proposal spot and had signs telling people that he was proposing and to call him if there were any issues. He ended the scavenger hunt by proposing at Emily’s favorite spot in the park where the water lilies bloom, and strung string lights and placed faux lilies (too early for the real ones to bloom) all around the bridge. Later that night and the next day, he received texts from strangers who had seen his signs wishing congratulations to the happy couple!”
“My favorite thing about Rehan is probably his curiosity. He loves to learn about pretty much everything and introduces me to things I’ve never heard of or thought deeply about before. He very much has that joie de vivre (in addition to all of his other wonderful qualities– kindness, generosity, work ethic, etc– of course!).”
“Emily cares about others with all her heart, almost to a fault. She will consider others’ needs and toil over the right move to make to ensure everyone’s happiness, sometimes forgoing her own. My favorite thing about her is how she reminds and inspires me to be more empathetic and considerate. Her big, beautiful brain is capable of holding every possible detail, while mine sees the big picture and the road ahead. Together we complement each other and cover each others’ blind spots. I love having her back and feel invincible knowing she’s got mine.”
SO excited to celebrate with you both and your families tomorrow at the Grand Lodge with so many loved ones (both present and thinking of you from afar)! You’ve planned an incredible day that I can’t wait to be a part of!
