When you share a love of laughter, local craft beer and breweries, industrial, colorful murals and happiness through ice cream (thanks to The Charmery for that perfect tagline), you know you’ve found your person, or people, in my case.
I met up with Heather + Jordan in Hampden on the Avenue to start our adventure in and around Baltimore’s best engagement photo locations and I can’t wait to share all the fun we had with you…
Here are some of the places we visited together to be sure we documented their engagement with a backdrop of fun, colorful murals and plenty of liquid courage along the way!
-
The Charmery’s original location on the Avenue in Hampden
-
The Stay Humble mural in Hampden
-
The Hampden mural at Hampden Elementary School
-
Woodberry murals (huge shoutout to Anna of The Otherside Creatives for helping us find these, some of the best murals in Baltimore!)
-
Union Craft Brewing at Union Collective
I love the way H+J make each other laugh so easily. They’re both such incredibly down to earth people and truly appreciate each other’s unique traits: fun, kind, inspiring, thoughtful, patient, calm… their love story is so perfectly crafted to them. In Heather’s words, here is how their first date unfolded:
“Jordan and I met online using the Bumble app in September 2017. We decided to meet for ONE drink on a Thursday night at Brewer’s Art, but ended up talking for hours and almost closed down the bar! I was so surprised at how the time flew by and when we realized what time it was, we both rushed outside to catch Ubers. On my ride home, I was worried that I rushed out too soon and didn’t properly thank him for the fun evening and drinks. However, just a few minutes later, Jordan sent me a text that led to our second date just 2 days later, and the rest is history!”
And the proposal:
“It was a Thursday night, right before Memorial Day weekend, and Jordan suggested we go to down to The Avenue in Hampden for dinner. We do that all of the time, so it was not out of the ordinary. Just before leaving, Jordan proposed to me at the base of our staircase in our new home. It was a really nice, private moment! He then shared that we were going to The Food Market, which is my absolute favorite, to celebrate our engagement with delicious food and champagne. We were almost late to our reservation because I couldn’t pull myself together! I was so surprised and happy, and the tears were flowing pretty hard! It was a great night followed by an excellent weekend in Virginia where we did some brewery hopping and saw my favorite band, The Avett Brothers, at Wolf Trap. I appreciated how thoughtful he was by making the proposal very private and personal, but had a full weekend planned for us to celebrate together.”
We are so happy for you two and can’t wait to see all the incredible details, handmade signage, personal touches and EPIC PARTY come together at the Accelerator Space on Leap Day, no less! Talk about making your wedding day memorable and completely your own – it’s going to be so good, you’ll need a few years in between anniversaries to recover from the celebration! 😉
