Early spring Baltimore wedding days in April can be a mix of weather, but for Ellen and Mark, the rain held off and the sun eventually came streaming through the Belvedere. Golden hour light poured into the 12th floor ballroom at the exact moment of their first dance that brought everyone to their feet!
Ellen’s wedding dress was covered in layers of delicate embroidered flowers to compliment the early spring blooms in Mt. Vernon. Her mom wore an off-the-shoulder dress with metallic and white flowers while Ellen’s bridesmaids all wore light pink. Mark and his groomsmen were dapper in black tuxedos and black bowties.
The magnolia trees in Mt. Vernon park were a gorgeous first look spot. At the base of the steps near the Walters Art Museum, there were lots of happy tears and radiant smiles! Ellen’s Dad held her bouquet so her hands were free to embrace Mark. It was so sweet to see both dads so involved in their wedding day.
With framed wedding photos of their parents and grandparents, “the love stories before us”, on display as guests entered the reception, Ellen and Mark’s wedding day was focused on family. It was so important and special to have everyone they love in the same place.
“We want to see lots of real smiles…” and there were SO many of those real smiles to document. The beautifully historic Belvedere ballroom was actually the same venue where Ellen’s parents had their wedding reception!
Sly 45 kept the dance floor packed the entire night, playing classics, current songs and everything in between. Ellen and Mark seemed to float across the dance floor, lighting up the room with their choreographed dance moves!
Heartfelt, joyful, classic, fun and full of love and emotion… it’s not only how I’d describe their wedding day but their relationship together. It was an honor to be a small part in celebrating and documenting your love story… congratulations again, Ellen and Mark!
